THOMAS MERRITT
A HIGHLY AMBITIOUS AND MOTIVATED CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING RACING DRIVER
My love of motor racing started at a young age, and I’ve always been inspired by every element of this exciting and exhilarating sport. My parents met working at Brands Hatch, and I am the third generation of my family to race, following in the footsteps of my dad and grandad.
Having competed in multiple seasons of karting, culminating in one championship and two vice championships, my focus is now on racing cars. I’ve spent the past two years competing in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship and I’m the reigning vice champion.
I am one of only ten young drivers in the UK to have been selected to be part of the FF Corse GT Driver Academy, which fosters young motor racing talent. I am also an ambassador and instructor for SIM Motorsport, based at Brands Hatch, the UK's leading race car simulation centre.
I have a professional approach both on and off the circuit and pride myself on being an excellent communicator, with the ability to share information at all levels. I have a growing social media following, across multiple channels and a willingness to learn to ensure continuous improvement.
When I’m not racing on track, I can be found in my Sim competing in a variety of esports competitions with Phoenix Sim Racing, as both a driver and team manager. I’ve also been invited to commentate on several online championships for both VRRC and Phoenix Esports.
My long-term ambition is to pursue an international career in GT and endurance motorsport. Whilst I focus on my racing career, I remain fully committed to my studies and am currently studying business at North Kent College.

BRSCC FIESTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Secured the vice championship with 4 wins, 4 pole positions, 10 podiums, and 5 fastest laps
2024/25
FF CORSE GT DRIVER ACADEMY
Selected as one of only ten young drivers in the UK to be part of the FF Corse GT Driver Academy
2024
BRSCC FIESTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Finished third in the Mk7 Rookie Championship, in my debut season, with two podium finishes, including a win in class, and several fastest laps.
2023
JOINED RACE CAR CONSULTANTS
Joined Race Car Consultants as part of their line-up for the 2024 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship. Completed multiple test sessions at circuits including Brands Hatch, Silverstone, and Donington.
2023
TKZ SOUTHERN CHAMPIONSHIP
Graduated to the Junior Light Class. Finished on the podium in every round, including three overall wins.
2023
JUNIOR ARDS LICENCE
Secured my Junior Race (ARDS) Licence, enabling me to transition into racing cars.
2022/23
TKZ WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP
Vice Champion in the TKZ Winter Championship. Finished with a clean sweep in the final round with pole position, the fastest lap, a win in the pre-final and the overall win.
2022
BAYFORD MEADOWS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Won the 2022 BMJC Championship (Silverstone class). Finished on the podium in every round, with five overall wins. Secured the championship by 44 points. Lap record holder.

AMBITION MOTORSPORT TEAM MEMBER
Numerous tests in a Micro Max and a Honda Cadet.
2021
BAYFORD MEADOWS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Competed in 5 out of 8 rounds in the BMJC Championship. Finished in 8th position (Silverstone class), with 3 overall wins.
2020
TESTING
Limited testing in club karts at Buckmore Park and Bayford Meadows due to COVID-19 restrictions.
2019
BUCKMORE PARK JUNIOR KART CHAMPIONSHIP
Multiple overall race wins and multiple ‘Driver of the Day’ awards.
